How Do I Split the Bill?

If you have more than one party responsible for paying the balance, Sunbound offers more flexibility in splitting your bill with more than one payor.  

1. Sign in to your Sunbound account 
2. If you have a balance ready to be paid on your dashboard, go to the bottom right-hand corner of your page and click “Split the Bill”  

3. Click on “Create new payor”
4. Input the email address, full name, and either the percentage of the bill or the specific amount that that payor is responsible for.
   1. This split will be applied automatically every month so be sure to update each month if it changes
   2. Any remaining balance will fall in the responsibility of the main account holder 
5. Click on “Create new payor” and an email will be sent to them with the link to set up their Sunbound account.

If there isn’t a balance yet, you can still set up another payor account to split the bill with!

1. Navigate to your Sunbound account “dashboard”
2. Go to the top right to “My Account”
3. On the drop-down menu click “Settings”
4. Click on “Manage Payors”
5. Click on “Create New Payor” then enter the other payor’s email and name.  
   1. The specific split will be available to enter once there is a balance on the Sunbound account.
6. Click on the “Add” and the “Welcome to Sunbound” email will be sent to them with the link to set up their Sunbound account.

How do I split my bill using multiple payment methods on my account?

You can easily split your bill using different payment methods by changing your "Default" payment method. To learn more, click here.

Will the split be in effect every month or do I need to update it every month?

Yes! The split should be in effect for every future month.

If you want to update the split you can easily do that by going into the "Manage Payors" setting when the bill is available to be paid. If you have Auto-pay activated, be sure to update before your payment processing!
